How much does malatang cost per pound?麻辣烫多少钱一磅？

Every ingredient, meat or vegetable, is the same $14.99 per pound. Load a bowl from the bar, we weigh it once at the counter and cook it fresh in the broth you choose. No per-item math, no meat surcharge. A typical single bowl runs about a pound.

What is the difference between malatang and hot pot?麻辣烫和火锅的区别是什么？

Hot pot is a shared pot of broth on the table that you cook in yourself. Malatang (麻辣烫) is hot pot by the bowl: you pick the ingredients, we cook them in the kitchen in the broth you choose, and you get one finished bowl. Faster, priced by weight, and no burner on the table.

How do I order, in the shop or online?怎么点餐？到店或在线都可以吗？

In the shop: grab a bowl, load it from the ingredient bar, hand it to the counter, pick a broth and a heat level. Online: choose the same broth, heat and add-ons on our ordering site, pay, and pick it up in about 25 minutes. Add-ons are free on online orders.

What are the Signature Bowls?什么是招牌碗？

Three set bowls we put together so you do not have to: Princess ($19.99, about 1.3 lb), Consort ($27.99, about 1.8 lb) and Emperor ($34.99, about 2.2 lb). You still choose the broth and the heat, and a canned drink comes with every bowl.

How spicy is malatang here? Can I choose my heat level?辣度可以选吗？

Three levels, the way the kitchen runs them: Mild 微辣, Medium 中辣, and Hot 特辣. Every bowl is cooked to order, so you set the heat each visit, and mild is a real option. The tomato and beef bone broths are not spicy at all.

What is dry malatang (麻辣拌, mala dry pot)?什么是麻辣拌？

Dry malatang, 麻辣拌, is malatang without the soup. You build your bowl from the same ingredient bar at the same $14.99 per pound, and instead of simmering it in broth we toss it in house-made chili oil with garlic, peanuts and numbing Sichuan spice. Same flavors, bigger punch, no bowl of broth.

Is malatang healthy? How many calories are in a bowl?麻辣烫健康吗？热量高不高？

It depends on what you put in the bowl. A bowl built on greens, mushrooms, tofu and lean meat in the tomato or beef bone broth is a light meal. Glass noodles, fried tofu puffs and the chili-oil broths add up faster. You choose every ingredient, so you control it.

Is there anything for vegetarians?有素食选择吗？

Plenty. The ingredient bar runs 60+ add-ons, including leafy greens, mushrooms, tofu several ways, lotus root and glass noodles, and vegetables cost the same per pound as everything else. The tomato broth is vegetarian.

Where exactly are you, and is there parking?在哪里？好停车吗？

We’re in Canyon Center at 2550 Amar Rd in West Covina, the same plaza as Sushi Mura, directly across the street from the 24 Hour Fitness on Amar. Park in the plaza and you’re steps from the door. Hours and directions are on our location page.
